More information at. Have you seen the airship? And the tower is literally just a cylinder with a cone on the top. This is not 6 years worth of hard work, this is someone desperately trying not to disappoint the ridiculous hype that's been constructed by the community.Wollay made a cool game, but let's not expect him to have been working hard for these 6 years (he's only human, and he has a life after all), nor should we pretend that he has. This is damage control, because he's really not handled hype well in the past.Sorry to say this.

To be fair, if I'm testing a feature like invasions I'm not gonna code in the most beautiful tower possible. I'd make the simplest tower possible and see how the AI handles the pathing and route generation then I'd test if it works in your current build which is where I assume the screenshots from, then after that I'd make changes too the tower and run it again to see if they interact better or worse. Your assumption that game design and asset design is as easy as simply making a drawing in paint is heavily misguided.

I get what you're saying, but I have two points for you to consider:1) If you're a dev that only posts screenshots every few months and has a huge audience (i.e: Wollay), you're not going to show off something you were working on just that day. You're going to wait until you've finished a feature, and then show it off. If it's not ready, you don't show it off.2) Once you've written decent AI pathfinding, it's pretty invariant to the specific layout of structures. I know you think that I can't possibly understand the complexities of what Wollay's doing, but I've written a lot of voxel engines and voxel games from scratch myself - this isn't the sort of thing that can be just explained away with 'yeah it was just a test tower'.I love that he's posting screenshots again, but I really worry that the hype generated by the community is a) putting way too much pressure on him and b) going to produce a massive backlash when the update inevitably isn't what they expected from 6 years of waiting. Fifa 20 crack. To respond to both your points, the guys a one man team, potentially 2 person team with his wife still working on the project thus a decent AI pathfinding might not be implemented including the pawns being able to potentially glide and wall climb introduces a lot of variables to consider with design elements.

As for the thing about explaining it away, its great that you personally have tons of experience with the voxel engines however not everyone will be as experienced as yourself with it. What may come across as un-impressive or lacking could be something there entirely impressed with themselves for achieving as someone who's tried their hand at making models for VRChat making a small cube that jiggles and makes a squishing sound as it walks isn't very impressive in the bigger view of it but it is still something I'm proud of making and trying to do.As for the audience part a good majority of the updates follow in line with the roadmap on the website that whenever he reaches a goal he normally posts about them. New race, New town, New combat features, New pets, Etc. This instance being potentially procedural quests. I understand your concern and I believe Wollay probably consider's these things before posting as well at least from a devoloper stand point at the minimun.

I believe the only way there could be a ton of backlash is if he releases the games without implimenting the things he's tweeted about and thats if wollay even releases the game again.Currently I'm looking at these screenshots as more teaser images for things he working on and how its coming together slowly and steadily but still improvements.

Depends how the modding is done. Loading random files from the internet to alter files in the game could easily have a mouse inside to steal the information and to do the rest. Not that hard.

Perhaps if things are installed through steam workshop then its safe but thats completely different already. Its all about how things are done. If you take it away, you break the game.If you're the sort to play with mods (and I am) you don't give a damn how anything is 'meant' to be played. Let's see how far we can stretch this thing before it breaks.
